The oldest Gen Xers are turning 60 this year. It's hard to believe if you happen to be one — which means you were born between 1965 and 1980. In the new series My So-Called Midlife, KJZZ will be be talking to members of this generation, as well as experts about what this cohort is up to — or, rather, up against.

Jacob Gold is an accomplished certified financial planner and adjunct professor of finance at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Gold is also the author of two books, "Financial Intelligence: Getting Back to Basics After an Economic Meltdown" and "Money Mindset: Formulating a Wealth Strategy in the 21st Century."
