Trump Wins SCOTUS cases, Iran War & Global Economy, Tiffani Jaseph wins 2026 Teacher of the Year
ASU supply chain expert weighs in on how energy use and the relations between energy producers are changing as a result of the war with Iran.
In this interview aired June 26, 2026, on Arizona Horizon:
Iran can hold the Strait of Hormuz hostage, but I don't think they can do it for ten years. I think it's less than that — I would say maybe five. Because if you look at what the Gulf states are doing, there's a big pipeline. It's already kind of there, but there's more capacity going across Saudi Arabia, and then there's one on the other side of the Strait as well. And of course, pipelines are easier to push oil through — not cheaper to make than shipping crude oil — but I think in the long run, that's not going to be the strategic chokehold that it is right now.
