W. P. Carey launches new hybrid format for Executive MBA program this August

The W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU has added a new hybrid in-residence format for the Executive MBA program. It maintains the excellent learning opportunities of the original program, with the same attention and commitment from faculty and sense of community with classmates — while giving students the opportunity to spend less time away from work.

The W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU has added a new hybrid in-residence format for the Executive MBA program. It maintains the excellent learning opportunities of the original program, with the same attention and commitment from faculty and sense of community with classmates — while giving students the opportunity to spend less time away from work.

Beginning in August 2021, students will only be required in-person on the Tempe campus for an intensive class weekend held once per month on a Friday and Saturday. An important feature of this new format is the addition of Friday evening course programming and networking events for students in both the first- and second-year cohorts.

Weekend lodging for these evenings will be provided by the EMBA program. On the second weekend of the month, students will be engaged in the classroom for a half day on Saturday. Following the new hybrid format for the program, students will have the option to attend these Saturday classes in person, or synchronously through Zoom.

The updated EMBA program will continue to reduce the number of weekends of travel to campus — and give professionals the ability to remain flexible. One of the goals of the program is to maximize the interaction among students and faculty, and give the community access to valuable networking opportunities.

As the 2021-2022 academic year kicks-off, W. P. Carey will plan for additional networking events during intensive class weekends. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni will be provided opportunities to get together.
